todays music culture, especially electronic music in britain is dominated by cliche 1-2-3 dance patterns and beat rhythms (R'n'B/Techno/etc). Frequenzen is a show dedicated to all electronic composition concepts, that go beyond that and thus are far off the cliche. Frequenzen is breaking with habitual music reception and repetition of previous concepts by offering a space for experimental airwaves. from microsound blips, computer gliches to sine waves. feeding off the technical errors and unplanned outcomes of the electrified society. "crackles, pops, pocks, combustions, gurgles, buzzes, amplitude tautenings, power spikes, voltage differentials, colliding pressure fronts, patterings, jump splices, fax connections, silent interjections, murmurs, hums, switchbacks, clunks, granulations, fragmentations, splinterings, roars and rushes have overwhelmed the soundscape - as if the ambient soundfields on the Cage-Eno axis have been zoomed in on until we are swimming amid the magnified atoms of sound. characterised by collosal by shift in dynamics, tone and frequency, this is an urban environmental music - the the cybernetics of everyday life - that reflects the depletion of 'natural' rhythms in the city experience, and in the striated plateaux of the virtual domain." RY "writing about music = dancing about architecture..." FZ 2K3 provides music airwaves (and streams) to listen to. If you are after dance music and variations of its kind look somewhere else. we want your ears not your hips and legs. we leave the posing to the ones that look like made for it. the 2003 frequenzen show is presented by alexander wendt + the podium 4 binary communication & electronic entertainment, it is broadcast in london on 104.4 fm and streamed via www.resonancefm.com mondays 10.30 pm - 11.30 pm (for your local time see below) ![]() |
